I've never been that great in the kitchen (it's much more Alana's domain than mine - ask our other roommates from this past summer), but my roommate and I made apple pie the other night, and it was actually the best I've ever had.
We adapted the recipe from my roommate's Weight Watchers cookbook and then added our own (kind of unhealthy) top crust. It was really simple to make and helped us clean out the fridge a little - we got rid of extra butter and apples that were about to go bad. The entire apartment smelled delicious and the pie didn't even make it through the weekend. I'd call it a success!
It's perfect to make for guests (impress your family over Thanksgiving), to bring to a potluck or just to have tempting desserts around the house. Try pairing it with some homemade hard apple cider for a cozy fall night in!
